Jetcut provides UHP cold cutting for bhp billiton

30th November 2012

Jetcut has completed cold cutting a new entryway into a tank for bhp billiton this month. Using a mobile ultra high pressure water jet cutting spread with a purpose built rail system, Jetcut created an inspection entrance way into the tank in a few hours.

Cold cutting entryways like this provides a safe alternative to using abrasive or flame cutting tools in tanks where there might be explosive substances. Using just water at 3000 Bar and some abrasive this technique is the industry standard for creating entrance ways and demolishing structures where heat generating tools can not be used.

Jetcut has a wide variety of tools, jigs and cutting heads for cold cutting and can cut many different materials and shapes using this technique. Cold cutting can also be completed in our premises in Canning vale with one of our 4 UHP water cutting CNC machines. These machines can take plate material up to 12M x 3M.
